AVOID AT ALL COST (to save yourself and your time and money).
Shame on me for not checking the 1-star reviews on here before going.
It's a tourist trap. The prices are high, the waiter, who smokes slim cigarettes like the little man that he is, will make you order more food than you need, then add a dish or two on top of it and you'll be sat there with a lot of leftovers. We made them pack all our leftovers and gave it to the nice cleaning ladies who were at our hotel.
Charged an old couple sitting beside us €2 extra to pay by card. For us, he tried charging 300 ALL extra.
It's a shame, because the food is not bad. They're prioritizing short term gain by scamming tourists. For the 4900 ALL I paid for this amount of food for 2 people (in the pictures) I wouldn't be mad if it was good food and the service was honest. But you're not getting your money's worth here, that much is clear by now.
All other places I went to in Albania had some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in the world. Not these parasites.
The meal here on a cold Thursday evening in February, 2025 was an absolute highlight of our stay in Tirana. We enjoyed traditional dishes (heavens, that Qofte), a warm and cozy atmosphere and the owner's exuberant attentiveness. I can't recall what we spent for almost more food than we could finish (and solid red wine) but probably around US $40 for two. Highly recommended.
Dined here twice during our stay in Tirana. And from our experiences around towns in Albania, Tak-Fak is absolutely among the greatest in the country.
The decor is retrospective and impressive, and you get the warmest welcome from the waiter, a cool guy, one of a kind. The food is so fresh and full of flavor, and you can, of course, get the nation's most special dishes here.
Here will be my most precious memory in Albania. Thank you Tak-Fak!
