Lovely albanian restaurant run by two sisters, coming from a butcher's family, proposing all the typical foods from Korca's area and all other albanians specialities. Not to be missed their burek and berxolla
Wish I could give this restaurant and Lori (the sweetest owner) a 12/10 because me and the girls had the best time, eating the best authentic dishes and chatting it up with Lori.
If you're a picky eater, maybe reconsider, but if you're open to trying new foods, Taverna e Kasapit was truly amazing.
There is no menu, which adds to the experience, but Lori brought out the best dishes, and just enough for me and my three friends. A great mix of veggies and meat, finished it off with two types of dessert. We ate byrek, a platter of olives, homemade bread, roasted peppers in olive oil, the best eggplant dish, Albanian meatballs, cheese, 4 plates of cake, and a pear dessert. And of course, homemade raki, all for 7000 ALL, which was 1750 ALL per person. Would absolutely recommend, definitely have a chat with Lori if you get the chance to!!!
On the back of the many excellent reviews we read of this restaurant, we chose to eat here. We really should have read the bad ones as well as they are spot on!
From entering the establishment, we were ignored and had to wait for the owner to have a chit chat with her other customers before showing us a table (it was the only option as the other tables hadn't even been cleared). It was only after some time she came to us and explained there is NO menu. No communication as to how many dishes we'd be served and most crucially no transparency regarding the price. At this point, she didn't ask us what we'd like to drink and we had to ask her once the food was on the table and we were so parched.
As for the food, the first course was greasy, bread undercooked inside, mash potatoes overly salted, lamb was full of fat and bones, hardly any meat and the cabbage salad overly acidic. My boyfriend was keen on trying the dessert to see if this could redeem the meal but we were ignored for a good amount of time, at which point we decided to call it a night. Upon asking for the bill, she charged us 4800 lek for 2 people, expensive for Tirana. Avoid!!
Very unique and lovely family operated Tavern. You need to be opened to the fact that you won't be given a menu but asked about your possible allergies. Then you will be experiencing an absolute authentic traditional Albanian dinner with a variety of several starters, sites and desserts. The lamb was absolutely amazing. We spent for two people including drinks, starters and dessert for 2 around 50 Euros. Not the cheapest for Tirana but with this lovely atmosphere it was absolutely worth it and let us feel like we visit some Albanian countryside Family. The owner speaks also very good English and accepted our visa card payment.
