If you're not Albanian, it's going to be complicated for you to get in. You'll need to book via an Albanian number.
That's what we did, so we were able to book a table for 2, 2 white Caucasian men, light eyes, quite physically fit.
As soon as the hostess saw that the reservation didn't come from me, she immediately placed us in a secluded corner of the restaurant with no view of the other people.
Then the waiters ghosted us.
So we asked to move closer to the centre of the tables, which they agreed to do, but always at a distance.
Several times we passed the few local men who were present (90% of the restaurant was female).
The Albanians looked at us very badly.
Moral of the story, we're not welcome.
Apart from that, the sushi was very good, and so was the wine selection.
*On the other hand, I can understand the Albanians, because they don't want a tourist mix, and want to keep their women exclusive. But it spoils the tourist experience (currently 20% of GDP).
We ate twice in MUGO. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast/brunch was definitely better. The dishes for dinner were okay. The pasta was kind of bland and mid. Service could also improve. When i am seated, i shouldn't have to ask for the menu
The food here is excellent! We came for breakfast which was a nice experience actually since they’re more known for their sushi. Their cocktails are well balanced and alcoholic, and they even go so far as to stamp their ice. Presentation and attention to detail were very present as well. Two negatives - one, no one seems to know how to pour a beer so the whole thing was super foamy and unpleasant, two the service was really slow. We waited an extra 30 minutes to pay and leave. Not acceptable for a place of that caliber. Other than that though, highly recommend!
