About

BUNKER 1944 is the Refuge, transformed into a Bistro Lounge Bar, decoration selected especially to fit that era. To honour 1944 - the year of Liberation from the Invaders, the year in which Albania won the well-deserved Freedom, we also added a partisan star, the star of Freedom and of Equality. Bunker 1944

I absolutely loved this place! Though I'm not sure about the story behind the name—perhaps it was an actual bunker during wartime—it adds a unique touch to the ambiance. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, relaxing, and friendly, making it a great spot to unwind. Everything about the experience was wonderful, from the environment to the food, which was absolutely delicious. However, a heads-up for non-smokers: smoking is allowed inside, so it might not be ideal if you're sensitive to smoke. Overall, "Bunker 1944" is a fantastic place, and I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again on my next trip. Highly recommended!

A nice bar in the heart of Tirana. It has a retro style look to it. Nice and quiet atmosphere. From what I noticed it's mostly attended by older men. Maybe because it's a mid week day. The bartender was friendly and talked to me. The music is nice too. The drinks were good. And the prices were good. I hope I'll be there again if I'm in Tirana in the future.

It's a fun little bar near the river. It's an old bomb shelter (as opposed to Nuclear Bunker as the name would suggest) completely decorated in communist era furnishings and playing 1980s music on loop. It was quiet when we were there so the barman came and joined us for a chat which was nice. Pricing very fair for a "touristy" place. Well worth a visit for a few drinks. They accept cards and cash.
